One of the pioneers of the Slovenian scene, Umek has risen to the ranks of the world’s best DJs through hard work, nonstop touring and producing plenty of dance floor bombs. He started the 1605 record label in 2007 and today it’s become one of the fastest growing techno labels. As an artist, Umek has been nominated for multiple awards, including a best artist nomination for the Beatport Music Awards. Not too bad, especially when you’re in the company of Deadmau5, David Guetta and Mark Knight.  Be sure to check out his documentary he did alongside another DJ you may know… it’s called “Techno heavyweights Umek & Carl Cox in Back To Back Interview… worth watching!  So here we are, the summer of 2011 and Umek is enjoying the relentless schedule of gigs to the world’s best clubs and festivals… He’s also landed himself 5 gigs throughout August and September at Carl Cox’s Revolution night at Space Ibiza.
